To anyone using Kotlin over Java, why?

I’m starting working on a Java code base, it’s been years since i worked with this ecosystem. Java nowadays seems nice enough but i know of alternatives and Kotlin is the one that interests me the most. I browsed through what the official website has to say about the language but I’m very interested in having real life account of goods, bads and mehs of Kotlin.
