Apr 28 Then and Now. I took the first pic on a Pentax 35mm when my then girlfriend was about 15 (around 1980). Last week, I took a picture of her in NYC and it reminded me of the beautiful girl from many years before. We have been married for 40 years.
Apr 27 TIL that in 1900, a physician named Jesse William Lazear wanted to prove that yellow fever was transmitted by mosquitoes. He allowed an infected mosquito to bite him, and he became infected with yellow fever, proving his hypothesis correct. He died 17 days later.
