When you first start into the rabbit hole that is Linux, you see that there are hundreds if not thousands of distributions that you can pick to use. While this can be quite intimidating, there are only a select few that are the root of the tree that all others are derived from: Debian, Arch and (some would say) Fedora/RedHat.
