Debian 12 installer promotes US/* time zones
Recreating the US/* time zone situation Yesterday, I wrote about screwing something up, so naturally THE ONE came out. I forgot to add my usual advice for them to suck down a bag of burgers from that one burger joint in Seattle. Anyway, there are some technical aspects to this. I got to wondering… why did I pick “US/Pacific”, anyway? Did I go to lengths to pick out a time zone name that (as countless posters have reminded us) has been marked as “backwards” about as long as Debian has existed? Don’t I know better?
